Sophia Alderman (Taylor)

When Sophia Alderman was born in 1833 in Swanbourne, Buckinghamshire, her father, Charles, was 20, and her mother, Hannah, was 21. 

The family story is that she was a nursery nurse to Lord Cottesloe's children. 

She married William George Taylor on 7 June 1861 in her hometown. They had five children in 10 years. 

She had eight brothers and six sisters. She owned and ran the village post shop. 

She died in 1921 at the age of 78.
