When Thomas Henry Oakden was born in 1856 in Tutbury, Staffordshire, his father, Philip, was 45 and his mother, Sophia, was 42.
He married Martha Ringland in 1887. They had six children in 13 years.
He was a Lance Corporal in the Grenadier Guards and served in France in WW1.
He was a Land Agent and Surveyor and collector of taxes for the Duchy of Lancaster in Tutbury. He was also the registrar for births, marriages and deaths.
He died in 1922 in his hometown at the age of 66.
