When Frederick Reader was born in 1889, his father, Arthur, was 35 and his mother, Eva, was 28.
He served in the Royal Army Service Corps in WW1, driving a military ambulance on the front line where he was gassed.
He married Ruth Maud Hedges in 1920 in Edmonton, Middlesex.
He was a wood machinist, drove a London bus and then eventually owned his own garage in Putney.
They had one child, Duncan, during their marriage.
He died in July 1967 at the age of 78.
