Sidney Rowsby

When Sidney William Rowsby was born on 26 November 1897, his father, Thomas, was 24 and his mother, Alice, was 24. 

He was in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Durham Light Infantry and he served in WW1 in the far east. 

He married Mary Ellen Addicott Currey in April 1937 in Newton Abbot, Devon. 

He was a timber merchant. 

They had one child during their marriage. 

They retired to Dawlish where he died in 1978 at the age of 81.
